The Express called it a ‘powerful tale of life, love and loss.’ The Daily Mail said it was ‘emotionally intelligent, finely and feelingly written’. The BBC dramatisation of Early One Morning begins on Radio 4 Women's Hour.
Greta Scacchi, Juliet Aubrey and Sophie Melville star in Miranda Emmerson's dramatisation of Virginia Baily's novel of love, loss and learning to be a mother. The 10-part series was directed by Emma Harding.
Virginia appeared at Cheltenham Literature Festival alongside Rosamund Lipton, author of The Quality of Silence.
Virginia also appeared at Manchester Literature Festival, where she spoke in an event at the Portico Library with Polly Samson.
Virginia gave a talk entitled 'How to turn ideas into stories', which traced the pathways between ideas and stories and looked at the importance of music, solid objects and a sense of place in translating the abstract into the concrete and bringing a story to life.
Early One Morning is named Waterstones Book of the Month.
